An improviser at heart, Patrick’s approach to composition involves his use of rhythm and modulation to explore a variety of musical themes and ideas. He sometimes has a subject in mind, as a focus for his piece, and will work from a specific starting point. At other times he will just sit down to play and be open to see where the music takes him.
